Disney's Toy Story Layout

Here is a layout that was done at Treasured Memories in Lafayette, Louisiana.  I am poor right now and couldn't afford to purchase the kit, so I bought the papers and lifted it.  I know Janet was so kind as to give me a napkin, but for the life of me, I couldn't find it so I created my own.  Thanks Janet for the inspiration.

My Take on the napkin.

The napkin on Janet's layout is an actual paper napkin.  I had one like I said but couldn't find it so I created one with paper and a cuttlebug folder.  My camera didn't take vivid photos like her layout but the papers are the same.  I will take a better photo another day but it is cold as heck here and this southern girl is not used to 32 degree weather.

Sista 2 Sista & Bro's Too Tumbler Swap

I recently committed to making a vinyl tumbler for one of my sistas or bro's in a tumbler swap share.  I received Wife 2 DJ as my partner.  Wife is a school nurse hence the nurse, the bandaids, and the stethscopes.  I did not meet my deadline to have my cup mailed to my partner and I wanted to do something extra.

I created a two page layout for school.  I did not title it because I wasn't sure what photos she would use for the layout.  I hope she likes both.

The tumbler file was cut on MTC and I found the nurse file in the gallery.  The layout was created from the Cricut.

I used the following carts:

Schoolhouse cut at 6.50 inches from My Community
School Bus cut at 5.00 inches from Stretch Your Imagination
All the paperdolls cut at 3.50 inches from Everyday Paper Dolls
Stop Sign cut at 5.00 inches from My Community

Scraplifted Layout

When I saw this layout a few months ago on the Cricut Circle blog, I knew I had to lift it.  I made a few faux pas but I like the look anyway.  This one is for my dad and I titled it, "Built Dad Tough" because in my eyes, there is nothing he can't do.  I will incorporate photos of him doing what he does best, working on stuff for his kids.

Thanks Jana for a great layout.

Elmo Tumbler

This is my second attempt at vinyl and my first attempt on tumblers.  The Queen of Vinyl, Nubian Crafter, assisted me with this file.  LOL.  Shhh, don't tell girl.  LOL.  She has been a life saver and I thank her for all the late night phone calls and calls during the day.  Thanks.

This cup is for my granddaugther and love of my life Symone.  She loves Elwo, not Elmo.

Candi

This week over at Platinum Scraps, we were given a sketch from http://www.sketchythursdays.blogspot.com/.

I wasn't sure about this paper and I am still on my personal challenge for the year to use more of my stash and secondly to scrap with pattern paper versus cardstock more.

I actually like how it turned out. I will complete my second page tommorrow. I have found that when I don't, I forget where I put the paper and what idea I was going to use.

This is my son, M.J. and his horse Candi at their first trailride together. I had to challenge myself not to overembellish. I still think it is necked, lol. I love lots of stuff but I wanted to focus on him and her.

My Interpretation

First attempt at vinyl

I made this car decal for my son for this weekends trail ride. Our club is Nat Town's Finest(NTF). Nubian cut the horse and I did the letters. Such a simple task, right, truly not. I am hooked though.

Oh yes, Symone felt that she needed to show off the sign.  Vanna White, watch out.

It's been a while!

I am always on the designers at Platinum Scraps to keep their blogs current and guess what, I haven't did it.  LOL.  Here are a couple of layouts I found that had not  been posted.  I wonder if blogger allows you to add images to multiple accounts.  That is always my problem.  I upload for the design team but not for my personal blog.

Animal Kingdom

Today I am featuring a layout that I originally did for Monday's launch over at Platinum Scraps.  Have you ever designed a layout and everyone said it was a good layout but decided that a little "tweaking" could turn it into a better layout.  Well this is what I did.  I followed the sketch but I felt the white space (empty space) at the top was a little to much for my liking.  I went in and added a few elements.

I will display the sketch, the first tweak, and the second tweak.  It is never to late to build on a good foundation.

Me and Symone

Ok, Brit-Te, here goes.  I came in the room to take the photo for the Cricut drawing but you know mini me had to come too.  Well here we go.  Now she has my brayer and the paper out the trash holding it up talking bout you gotta take a picture of me Nana.  You gotta love little Miss Symone.  LOL

Faux Metal

I am so excitied about the newest layout techinique I learned.at the local scrap store Treasured Memories in Lafayette, Louisiana. It is a technique called "Faux Metal". You use foil tape, chipboard, metal distressing tools, and your imagination. I will upload a video in the near future demonstrating the process to create your very own metal page.

The key to this technique is building your chipboard images. Lot's and lot's of layers.

I made the following pages for my dad's album. These are pictures of us at the restaurant while watching the Saints game on Super Bowl Sunday and the other photo is the next day waiting for the team to land at the airport.

Believe you me, the camera does not do this technique justice.

The "Who Dat" layout was created in class.  I love all the layering of the chipboard.

"Saint's Nation" was done after the class.  I forgot my little chain at the top, but that's ok.  I still love this technique.

Gearing Up For Greatness

This is my bi-weekly challenge over at Platinum Scraps  Each designer had to create a layout from a sketch selected from Pagemaps.

I am tryng to finish my kids graduation albums, so you will see layout after layout in the next few weeks featuring them.  They have only been out of school one and two years respectively.  LOL.

This layout shows my son as we prepared to take him to college.  It was a bittersweet time for me.  Eventhough, I had been thru this with my daughter, he is my baby.  He also doesn't want Mama "Baby- Fying" Him up.  LOL.  I do anyway.

I love how the Tim Holtz gears came out.  I cannot get a very good close up of the gears.  I used a new metallic paint and it is absolutely beautiful.  So easy to use.

Place Card and Plate

Wow, can you believe it.  Platinum Scraps has been in designing for an entire year.  Last year, we started off with ten designers committing to two projects per month.  We lost two along the way but the ride has been great.

To celebrate our year as a design team, we decided to allow the designers to create party items to invite our followers to the big party so to speak.  I just realized that many of us will actually celebrate with parties this weekend for the Superbowl.  I am going for Pittsburgh since my Darlin Saints are out.  I just think the coach for the Steelers is so so sexy.  Hmm Hmm Good.  Shh don't tell hubby.

Anyway, I decided to create a place card holder and a Platinum decorated plate.  Thanks to each of you who follow our design team and I pray that you would join us this year as we grow more.

Happy Birthday Trindan

This was my final project for the Bo Bunny challenge over at Platinum Scraps.  I was trying out a layout from Ms. Paula down in Lafayette, LA.  She is the bestest.  She had a layout where she cut the photo into half inch squares and recreated the image.  I did not get instructions from her, I just kinda winged it.  I didn't add many embellishments because the photo is the focal point in this layout.

This is my precious Lil Man on his actual birthday.

Since I created the layout, I have spoken with Ms. Paula and she actually measured each line and drew marks.  I am going to do this again with my son's MJ's photo, but I will use dark paper to measure the lines.  I had thought of that but was afraid on my light background, the marks would show.  Due to photograper error, it looks as if the left side is a little off but in the book, it acutally lines up.

My Little Munchkin

Symone and I are both going a little stir crazy.  We have been in the house since Thursday around 4:30 p.m.  due to weather.  This morning, we finished breakfast and I could tell she was getting sleepy.  I was in the scrap room working on a project and she dozes off.  She had her mouth open and I was gearing up to snap away.  Then she hid under the covers as if to say, "No pictures Nana or as she likes to laugh and call me Nanny".  This little girl is a mess.  You gotta love her.

You Blow My Mind

This week over at Platinum Scraps we are continuing our parade of projects made featuring paper from Bo Bunny's Gypsy line.  I didnt' like this paper at first but I must admit, it is growing on me.  Please go over to the blog to view the other designer's take on this project.

I did a two for one as I like to call them.  I met the requirements for our design team but in the process, I also used a sketch from a blog I just love.  The sketch comes from the girls over at Stuck on U Sketches.  I am still wanting to be like them when I grow up.  As I went to there blog, I see that the sketch actually comes from pagemaps.com.  Ok, enough the credit has been issued.

Happy Crafting

Hello Family and Friends.  I am truly blessed to be able to say Happy New Year.  I don't take that lightly or for granted.  So many family and friends went to be with the Lord in 2010.  I thank God for allowing us to see the New Year.

My first project for the New Year is a card using for Platinum Scraps using the Gypsy Line of paper from Bo Bunny.  We will feature differenct projects from this line for the entire month.

Each designer had free reign on the card design.  No sketches were required.
