I -10 To Miami

This layout is a replica of the poster I made for my dad, brother's, and oldest son to take to the game the New Orleans Saint's played against the Falcons.  It is simple in design but for any Saint's fan, it speaks volumes.  We are hoping to travel I-10 to Miami with our team for the ultimate game in Saint's History; The Superbowl.

Carts used:  50 States (state shapes), Street Sign (I-10 sign), Accent Essentials (Fleurs), Alphaliciuos (Font)

November Sista Swap Layout

Trying to scrap my stash, get caught up, and do what I love; scrap all at the same time.  I made my flower embellishment.  Very Simple technique.  Punch or cut the flower( Accent Essentials has one that is similar) at the desired size.  Thick/Full flowers work best.  Ink edges, pop with your choice of pop dots, I use foam tape, adhere brad or button to center.  Viola: instant embellishment that stands out.

I Am Tonya!

Stole the title from the movie " I Am Legend" and used it to create this layout for my sista swap.  Carts used Alphalicious -- font, Dreams Come True -- Window, George -- hearts and circle.  Bazzill Paper (from Hobby Lobby, bought a lot of it but then the more I use it, I don't like it.  It is just a little to shiny for my liking.  Also used SU cardstock and a MS punch.

Made the Dahlia from a tutorial at http://scrap-n-dance.blogspot.com/.  I just love making my own embellishments now.  After all didn't we buy the Cricut to save.  Ok, enough, here is the layout.

Secret Sista Christmas Card

I  saw all the wonderful creations last year and knew I wanted this Cuttlebug folder.  Didn't get it until after Christmas and I just had to use it this year.  I made this card for my Secret Sista, I hope she likes it.

What Santa doesn't bring, Grandma Will!

I saw this on a wall hanging at a store and just had to scrap it for my precious Symone.  It said "what Santa doesn't bring me, Grandma Will"!  Well, in typical me fashion, I forgot the me in all of the excitement of the layout but that is ok, it makes it mine.  I only hate that the red paper I had was different and of course I didnt' have enough of the same color but that's ok as well.

My First Etched Glass Project!

Some of my fellow mb friends are big into etching items for gifts and I too have caught the bug.  Had never etched before but wanted to try so bad.  I love personal gifts, they come from the heart.  My first attempts at etching were a series of mugs for my nephews and my son.  Here is the Saints mug for my son.  It ran a little but that makes it unique.

My Scrapbook Room!

Finally, I have moved out of my kitchen.  We live in  a small house and had three kids at home.  Recently, lost two, but not for good, awww.  No, son moved out and daughter is away at college.  I am using her room as a scrap/her room when she is home.  Well let's just say that the full size bed is gone and in came a twin.  Wishing they made something smaller.  Hubby built a workstation for me.  Here are pics of my little piece of Heaven on Earth.

My Harley Phone and Travel Cabinet
(it houses all the things I need at a crop, adhesives, inks, etc.)

My JetMax Storage Center

My Work Station
(Built by Hubby, He Rocks!)
I intentionally left it messy because if you come
scrap with me, we will get messy.

Totally Scraplifted!

I saw this layout over the Black Friday Holiday. Monique Griffin, designed this layout for CWTC weekly challenge. She posted that it was the most detailed layout she had ever done. I agreed, it is full of beautiful details. I asked her if she would mind if I scraplift it because it is truly a work of art. Her answer was no. Below is my rendition of Home for the Holidays. I am going to incorporate pics of my family later.

My Journey to a New Me!

I am a 40 year old mother to three beautiful children, grandmother(nana), to my little heart, miss Kennedi Symone, and Godmother to my precious, Jazmine. For years now I have struggled with my weight. It didn't happen overnight and I know this journey to lose the weight will not be conquered overnight. I am enlisting all my friends as my support group as I make this journey to what I am calling the new me. Today, was the first day that I have excerised in a long time. I don't know where this journey will lead, but I am praying that it will lead to a more healthier me, one that understands and appreciates her body, mind, and spirit. I am still pondering how to take on this task, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, did I say how much I truly hate to exercise, lol, but how much I truly love to eat Oreo cookies. As a matter of fact, sweets are my downfall. To my wonderful sista, who suggested the low calorie sweets, all I can say is keep me in mind. LOL.

Seacor Marine Family Picnic

My family traveled to Houma, LA for the annual family day celebration. I am glad the weather held up. We were inside, but there were events held outside as well. Here are a few pictures, hope you enjoy. The wind tore a sistas hair out during the outside events. I just brushed it back and said forget it.

It's Official, I'm A Warhawk Mom!

My youngest son will leave home in August to begin his journey into adulthood. We toured the University of Louisiana at Monroe today for freshman, "Browse on the Bayou". This was his school of choice, but financially, it would have been more feasible for him to attend the same university as my DD and I had been trying to persuade him. With much thought and prayer, I know we will be ok financially and as I told him, it is not fair for you to give up your dream to follow hers. He had such a shine on his face today as we made our way through all of the activites. Here is a photo of him and hubby.

My how time flies. I first saw this page over on the Cricut messageboard and new I wanted to "lift" it. Thanks Julia Moss. I am still in awe over your work. This is the story of my "baby" who is now a senior in high school, hence from this to that. The first page is pre-kindergarten. Page 2 will feature things he did as he made this journey. Will share that later.

My layout, http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=5201539, has been recognized in the Cricut Chirp. It is a privilege to know that others appreciate your work. I am a novice scrapbooker but I have been blessed to meet some very talented people who have helped me tremendously. I thank all of you for looking and commenting on my layout. This little girl is truly her Nana's Little Angel.

EDPD - Band Player

This is my first attempt at using this cart. This is a band player for my son. He plays the saxophone, but I could not find one so I substituted the trumpet instead.

June Birthday Layout

This is my layout for the Sista Thread June Birthday Swap. I used my stash as they say; eyelets, saftey pins, and yarn. It is very simple but sometimes simple says it all.

Um, Um, Good; Campbell's Can't Touch This

Ms. Kennedi Symone eating a Popsicle all by herself. She held on to that Popsicle for dear life. Only had a few pieces left; when the Popsicles splits off the stick at the bottom.

M. J. Prom Layout

My layout for the shirt challenge that I incorporated into my son's prom layout. Used Cricut cart Lyrical Letters, Bazzill-in-Stitchz for the swirls, and a Fiskars border punch for the edges. This is my take on a sketch done by Karrie at Lonestar Scrapbook Store.

Nana and her Most Beautiful Girl

This is a picture of my darling granddaughther and I at the ring ceremony. We, or should I say me, got soaked. I kept her dry but the weather ruined my "do".

My Baby, Officially a Senior!

Monday, May 11th Ring Ceremony at NCHS. Go Chiefs. I can't believe he is officially a senior. Everytime I see him with his ring, it let's me know that motherhood for me is getting ready to go in a different direction. M. J., my baby, is all grown up. Go new Senior!

Here is my revised take on my layout for Team 1 Just Buggin Away, April Challenge. After a meeting with my consultant, we decided that I needed to go back to the drawing board. This is the finished product. Thanks consultant. Always grateful. TFL.

April Team Challenge Layout

Just Buggin Away was our team name for the April Challenge. We had to use the card feature from any cartridge. I decided to use the telephone from the cart Wildcard.

Getting Older

Today, my daughter and I went to pick up her prom dress. She is a senior. I have come to realize that my babies are truly growing up. My "baby", is a junior, oh boy. I have always told them that my plan was to get all of them out of the house at once. Now it looks like that will be happening and fast. I will post pics next weekend of the two of them and their dates.

"I Made It, But Didn't Know It"

I made this layout for the Easter Challenge on the Sista Thread. I received several congrats the other morning from ladies on the board about the Chirp. Well I thought the Chirp was another bug added to your name for so many posts, so I went to see. That was not it. So I asked some of the girls behind closed doors and they left me hangin. Eventually, someone informed me. So now I know what the Chirp is. Ha Ha Ha.
Thanks to all my sistas. My work gets better because of you ladies challenging me to think outside the box. So this is for all my sistas.

Sista's Easter Challenge -- April 1, 2009
I used the pastel colors as required but
also used my Cuttlebug Cut & Emboss butterfly
set. We have been challenged to use from
our stash and not make unnecessary purchases.
Ok, which purchases are unnecessary. LOL.
