Happy Birthday Trindan

This was my final project for the Bo Bunny challenge over at Platinum Scraps.  I was trying out a layout from Ms. Paula down in Lafayette, LA.  She is the bestest.  She had a layout where she cut the photo into half inch squares and recreated the image.  I did not get instructions from her, I just kinda winged it.  I didn't add many embellishments because the photo is the focal point in this layout.

This is my precious Lil Man on his actual birthday.

Since I created the layout, I have spoken with Ms. Paula and she actually measured each line and drew marks.  I am going to do this again with my son's MJ's photo, but I will use dark paper to measure the lines.  I had thought of that but was afraid on my light background, the marks would show.  Due to photograper error, it looks as if the left side is a little off but in the book, it acutally lines up.

Mistletoe Jam

This is my entry for our challenge this week over at Platinum Scraps.  Each designer could complete any project, it just had to be Christmas Themed.  I designed this project with my cousin in mind who absolutely loved herself some Luther Vandross.  Since it was Christmas, what better title than Luther's song, "Mistletoe Jam".  The blue and silver mimics her sorority colors, blue and white.  I can hear her now, go Zeta's, LOL.  Gotta love the greeks.

Anyway, thanks for looking and may God continue to make your holiday season bright.

Three B's: Brads, Buttons, and Bows

Over at Platinum Scraps, our challenge this week is to create a layout with buttons, brads, and bows.  I immediately knew my title when this challenge was issued.  Didn't have the photos, paper, or even an idea, but I think it came out just fine. I challenged myself this time.  My team mates know that I am so afraid of patterned papers.  In 2011, I want to conquer that fear.  I only used solid cardstock as accents.  I love how it turned out.

This is Symone, ha ha, like yall don't know who she is.  But just in case, this is Nana's very first grandchild and my DD and DS never let's me forget that I am the first, her dad, and her and we are rotten.  I beg to differ but eveyone has their own opinions.

Anyway, this is Ms. Symone on her Papa's truck.  Whenever he puts her back there, she just has a ball.  He always has to chase her down just to get her to come out.

Thanks for always being a loyal follower.  Be sure to come and post a link to your project if you decide to take the challenge to complete the three B's.

and the Court!

Here is page one of a two page layout I completed for a challenge over at Platinum Scraps.  This week's feature was the Free for All (FFA).  We could create whatever we wanted, it just had to feature images from the Forever Young Cartridge.  The other page features the Queen.  So once complete, it will read, "The Queen, and the Court".  I ran out of pearls but will post sometime this week.  Yeah, Yeah, I am shakin my own head.

March Sponsor Paper

This week over at Platinum Scraps we were fortunate enough to have our very first sponsor gift the design team with a gift card for blog candy and paper for the team.  We each received paper from the American Crafts line, Blue Skies.  Each designer was able to create freely since this week was our Free For All (FFA).

I completed three different projects; a 6 X 6 layout, a card, and a bookmark.  The paper created a real challenge for me in many ways.  First, each designer only received 6 X  12 inch pieces of paper.  I like to do layouts (12 X 12), that alone scared me.  Then I am truly afraid of patterned paper.  But all in all, I think my work was good based on the challenges.  Hope you like.

Platinum Scraps Easter Themed Layout

Rejoice, Jesus Is Alive!  This week over at Platinum Scraps we were challenged to render our take on a sketch by Rowena.  Initially,  I envisioned a child's layout complete with Bunny Rabbits and eggs and all the things that commercialize the Easter Holiday.  As I was on the phone late Friday night with CurlyLocDiva, I kept being pulled to do a layout about the Savior and what the Resurrection means to me.

With that in mind and many attempts with the Iphone to send pictures of my pattern paper to Curly and many failed attempts, she was able to assist me with the selection of the paper I wanted to use for my background.  I am a chicken when it comes to using Pattern Paper as a background.  Curly, girl you know you are a great teacher and I better not hear about this again.  LOL.  Truly thanks girl because without that key selection, I could not have completed this beautiful layout.

I included a copy of the Resurrection Story as iilustrated with the Easter Eggs and tools.  You can purchase the eggs from any Christian Book story.  The eggs also work with the children's book, Benjamin's Box by Melody Carlson.
